I was very flattered when Lisa of Paprika Patterns said she wanted to use one of our Ikat fabrics for the launch of her latest sewing pattern the Amber Trousers. These trousers are gorgeous and I'm totally in awe of her pattern matching skills! Lisa kindly let us share these great photographs showing both of the 2 styles to choose from, a wide leg or a tapered fit. I'm always striving to show our fabrics in the best way possible and what better than showing how they look made into garments! In the long list of things involved in running Faberwood, searching for new fabric lines, photographing, webstore running etc. I'm finding less time to actually sew anything. Each time we get something new in so many projects spring to my mind but that's just where they're staying, in my mind! So, I started looking for a quick project, for our knits in particular. Finally I got round to doing these photographs of my recent make the SBCC Brooklyn Hoodie. I used this Finnish brand PaaPii sweatshirting from our current Faberwood collection. This organic jersey has such a luxurious feel to it, is super soft and a joy to wear! You can really tell that this is an exceptional quality fabric. I love the way you can mix the triangle design around, here I contrasted it on the pockets. My own addition was to line the hood in some plain black contrasting jersey as I didn't want the inner seams on show. This sewing pattern is quite easy to put together the hardest bit was...

Sharing this gorgeous top made by Grace Whowell of Beyond Measure using our Atelier Brunette Birdie fabric! Grace made this top with a modified version of a vintage sewing pattern last year. You can read more about it on her lovely website Beyond Measure that sells uniquely sourced haberdashery items for folk who make. I love the way this fabric is so contemporary and is combined with this classic styling, I don't think this fabric will ever date. Thanks for sharing this Grace, it's simply stunning!
