Hemlock Tee in Faberwood Blue Spot Ikat

I've been wanting to make a kimono style tee in one our Indian Ikats and this fabric was perfect! I settled on using the Hemlock Tee sewing pattern as I've sewn this up many times before, it's designed for stretch fabrics but it also works well in a woven due to it's over sized style. There are minor modifications I had to make, as I only had 1 metre left of this Blue Spot Ikat and the Indian fabrics do tend to come in a slightly narrow width. So squeezing what I could I had to take an inch from either side seam, I think I got away with it, then I added 2/3 inches to the sleeve (the wide sleeve is what I was really after!) I also had to omit the neckline, I definitely couldn't manage a long bias strip with the scraps I had left but this wide neckline works for a summer style tee.

Unfortunately, this fabric sold out super quick and I couldn't get any more, but this new Spot 'Like Chambray' Ikat is a similar design. The Hemlock Tee is a free PDF sewing pattern that you can get if you subscribe to Grainline Studio, it's definitely worth it, their newsletters are fabulous and they have great tutorials along with the sewing patterns that are definitely my style!
