My Love for Indian Block Print

Ever since I can remember I've had a passion for textiles. Being a designer and involved in print and production, it's not surprising that I'm so drawn to any kind of print on paper or fabric. Printing by hand is a time consuming skill and one that fascinates me. Experience is the training. I love that hand printed things can be inconsistent with little blemishes, making the design even more special. I wanted to put a blog together to give you some background to our latest india collection. These behind the scenes photographs have been kindly provided by the maker of our new block print fabrics. Orton Bag made in Aime Comme Marie Flaming'Oh Linen fabric

This bag! Oversized and over awesome! This is a birthday present for my sister-in-law (a little late) but hopefully the fact that I've made this for her will make up for that! I've made a few Merchant and Mills sewing patterns, they're always so simple and elegant. This is the first time I've tried this free sewing pattern available from their website, you can download the pdf tutorial here, it's quite easy to put together. I think this sewing pattern is ideal for linen adding to the drape and feel and I used the beautiful Flaming'Oh linen fabric from our collection. The fabric with a beautiful...
