It makes me so happy when our customers make such fabulous things with our fabric! Here our latest blog features our fab customer Kat. This Brumby Skirt perfectly shows off our Fleur de Peaux Fabric that almost shimmers as it catches the natural daylight. Plus that exposed zip is awesome! Welcome to my first 'proper' blog post since our launch! This is where it all started for me with these gorgeous fabrics from French designer Atelier Brunette. On discovering these I decided I wanted to specialise in modern fabrics for the home sewist. After 6 months of making Faberwood I'm feeling pretty tired, but it's a good kind of tired! When I look at what we've achieved - fabric sourcing, photo shoots, marketing, web building and social media socialising, it all feels great. The kids aren't feeling too neglected or hungry and the house is still in a reasonable state! That said it's been a good couple of months since I've been in the sewing room and I can't wait to get creating with the first batch of fabrics we have in stock. Faberwood started with my love for fabric, design, photography and the outdoors, It's turned into something so much more than I envisaged....

I know that photographers out there were making the most of the amazing snow that was still pretty deep out in the Peak District. Ladybower Reservoir is simply stunning - we hiked to the top and felt like we were on top of the world!  My ideal world! The walk home as the sun was going down. This is FABERWOOD and it is magical!

My next shoot while the kids are at school. Here I've invested in a new shutter release cable, after all the years of owning a SLR camera I can't believe I've never had one before. I wanted to make use of the snowy scenes in our local woods even though it was very cold!!
