Anna's button down top made in Fláme organic jersey knit

Our guest sewist Anna has made this amazing button top using our Fláme organic knit from Finland. Anna self drafted this pattern and the details are perfect and work so well for this style. I love Anna's energy and enthusiasm along with her inventive creativity, my favourite part is the 'cheat button technique' Anna's own words, it's genius! This top shows off the fabric perfectly - it looks fantastic Anna, well done and thank you xxx Anna has a great sewing blog where you can read more about this top and look at many more of her fabulous makes

Thayer Jacket made in Ventana Twill

I had my eye on this Thayer Jacket by Grainline Studio as soon as it came out and also had the fabric in mind too with this Robert Kaufman Ventana Twill. After a little episode of decision anxiety I finally settled on the Brick Brown for the main fabric and this Brown Mammoth Flannel for the lining. Then I had another indecisive episode over which fabric to use for the collar! Sewing basics - A sweatshirt for Mr T

Finally my husband gets something made for him! This is one of my favourite fabrics to sew with, it's warm, high quality and has a brushed backing. Hand made sweatshirts are my go to most days so I wanted to make one for Mr T's birthday. This is the dark grey anthracite fleece from The Organic Textile Company and also the ribbing is in the same colour match (perfection!) This was going to be a timeless and minimal basic make to stand the test of time. I had to make this in secret, a little tricky for fitting issues as well as hiding all evidence...

A shirt made for Westy in Mammoth Flannel Burgundy

I had to follow our last blog of 'making for guys' with this fabulous make by one of our customers Suzy who is based in Spain. Suzy wanted to make something for her husband to wear on the cooler Spanish days and kindly shared these photographs with us. This is the Fairfield Button Up by Thread Theory made in our Burgundy Mammoth Flannel. The details are so good and I am envious of Suzy's professional finish. I love this make that shows off our fabric perfectly, not to mention that perfect Spanish view! Beautifully modelled, Westy, thank you : )

Something for the guys (maybe)

Rounding up a month of sharing ideas for making things in our Mammoth Flannel and Ventana Twill fabric, this time I wanted to collect a few ideas for mens sewing patterns. Strictly speaking I think these styles can be classed as unisex but maybe men like to have there own range! Male, or masculine styles, appeal to me for instance the chore jacket style is very popular across the sexes. Here I've listed a few casual sewing patterns that I like the casual style of.   Mens Overshirt by Wardrobe by Me The first thing I liked about this pattern is the relaxed style of the collar. I...
