I have always lusted over the beautiful art of Ikat design in a fabric, for such a traditional process the designs can produce surprisingly modern geometric patterns. This homespun cotton from India has stunning colours of indigo woven through. The floaty medium weight material, a little like gauze, has a loose slub weave and slight rustic texture. This traditionally made fabric will work so well for modern clothing and I really wanted to include something exciting like this in the Faberwood collection
Extra note: Due to the nature of this natural fabric I recommended it is washed in cold water to seal the dyes first. It may not be necessary but I would continue to wash in the machine on cold to preserve these beautiful naturally produced colours.
