Such a 'jungle' feel running through this fabric and the streams of coral are stunning! This kind of fabric just takes you off to an exotic location, they are stylish without even trying. I just love this process where the artist creates a design through what naturally happens as the inks merge, it's mesmerising.

With this size panel piece you could make a beautiful dress or top and bottom combo, just go wild!

I am lucky to work with a lovely lady supplier, who regularly visits Africa and knows these artists by name, she shares with me a little about this very special Batik and Damask process.

A little bit about Damask:
Damask is a pattern formed by weaving and historically was often used to 'mimic' silk, to show a sign of wealth.

A little bit about the Batik:
Batik is wax applied to the fabric before the dying process, where dye cannot penetrate the waxed area the fabric keeps it's original colour. and where there is no wax, the dye colours the fabric. The wax can be applied with many different tools, from foam rubber to wooden stamps and brushes. Some wax is dripped from a height and in many layers, with dip dyes in between - can you imagine the work?!

A little bit about crispness:
Feeling crisp at first, the fabric will go quite soft when washed. If you want to keep it crisp, just don't wash it!

Treat this fabric with gentle care and always use a mild detergent no hotter than 30°
