Maroon Stripe Kotpad Handwoven Indian Cotton

Many people know about my love of Indian handloom fabrics! This is part of a new ethical collection. Kotpad weave uses vegetable-dyed fabric woven by the tribal weavers of the Mirgan community in the Odisha region of India. These organically produced cottons are woven using age-old traditions to make fabrics without the use of chemicals, they describe their work as 'a stunning amalgamation of nature's gifts & human ingenuity'. These textiles have been woven with particular care and love and the odd little uneven threads and slub texture are all part of their charm.

The simple stripe design and maroon shade ooze Autumn to me, I'm picturing berries you find in the forest. I love the unusual feel of all the Kotpad range, they feel slightly more textured than our other Indian cottons. These fabrics would be suitable for all clothing, especially if you like that 'lived in' look you get with linen.

Note: Hand-woven fabrics can vary in shade and tone, due to the natural dying techniques used
