I started this Summer searching to find a pretty purple colour just like this and when I found it in linen I was hooked. This is a quality, 100% pure softened linen from the home of fine linen production Lithuania. I have sewn quite a bit in linen this year and I can honestly tell you this is far softer than some varieties that I have bought here in the UK. It feels tactile and so good, it's mid-weight with a worn softness, very relaxed. Would make a fantastic dress, skirt or lose trousers.
Good European laundered, or pre-washed linen is getting harder to find in the UK, especially in more varied colours. This, my daughter says, reminds her of Parma Violet sweets. Pure linen is expensive (thanks Brexit) and I am seeing so many 'blends' but, for me, nothing beats the feel of the real thing. I like how it's ageless and it 'customises' over time to your own body and style. Worth the effort, hope you will enjoy it!
