Organic Indian Block Print 'Dots' Orange Fibre

Bolt end 0.5m plus remnant piece 85x90cm Only £12
Part of a new range of fabrics imported from India, I have found some interesting alternatives to cotton. This fabric has a crepe feel and is made from oranges! Orange fibre is made from a cellulose that's extracted from discarded fibres during the industrial pressing of orange juice and then spun into yarns. A fabric produced without the use of pesticides and chemicals means it's organic and kinder to the environment.

The best way to describe this is it feels like gauze with slight crinkle to it, reminds me of cheese cloth of the 70s! With an opaque, airy and weighty drape this is excellent for loose summer clothing and scarves, it is not see through. I think this would make a great skirt with a gathered waistline, the design runs vertical making it look stylish and different.

Note: This fabric may contain little imperfections in the design. This is expected due to the nature of a hand printed textile and the techniques used during the dying process
