Somehow Faberwood always feels more complete with an Indian ikat in the collection! Our ongoing relationship with a lovely family of Ikat weavers in India means their quality is completely reliable. They are experts in traditional ikat weaving and provide us with beautiful unique, hand made fabrics.
I chose this classic mono design for it's simplicity and effortless style. It's a slightly smaller pattern than previous ikats we've had and all the better for it. The double ikat pattern is woven into the fabric creating a 'spot type' of design.
One of my favourite things about ikat is the slub feel of the floaty cotton, it feels amazing to wear in the Summer. This type of homespun cotton fabric is a perfect all rounder, lovely to sew and a perfect weight - not to thick, not too thin.
