Willow tank in Longline block print

The Willow Tank is on repeat every Summer! The reason I love this and make it so often is it fits me well, it doesn't show too much skin and has a fab shape that always works with jeans. I vary the length depending on what I'm aiming for, this one I've added an extra inch and it's all sewn completely using French seams which is easy to do with this fabric.

My favourite part is this fabric are the lines running horizontally and if you notice the front, the print actually stops before the hem, my plan all along was to include as much of it as possible on the front. This design feature comes only on the end of the roll. I think this fabric is quite unusual to your average Indian block print, you can read more about it here.

Even though I'm very happy with this top, in all honesty while sewing, I kept thinking that this particular pattern doesn't do the fabric the justice it deserves. I think it needs to be a lot more of it on show and to swish around! I went with this though as the piece I cut for photographing normally dictates how much of the fabric I get to keep for myself! I wanted something I would wear (ie with jeans...yawn...) but if I was to make something again, with a maybe a hot destination holiday on the horizon (Corona not making that likely) I would be reaching for a long and breezy dress.
