Kiomi Top made in our Bamford Homespun Ikat

This is my first make using fabric from our new bespoke Ikat collection. Having three designs to pick from I've had a little trouble deciding which one to start on first! This top is from a favourite sewing book of mine called Lotte Jansdotter Everyday Style which has lots of lovely simple sewing patterns and includes inspiring 'look book' style photography. The Kiomi top comes as a dress too and is quite an A line, floaty shape. I made one in linen last summer and I've worn it loads. My favourite feature is the neck binding which has an unusual assembly method but is perfect for sewing with this handloom cotton. I love the feel of this fabric for sewing and for wearing, it has a casual slub vibe and wonderful hand dyed tones that age with wear.
